About
Big Red Acres
We began this adventure
with our first alpaca purchase of three juvenile males in late 2005. After gaining a year of valuable experience in
the field and the show ring, we decided to fully embrace this lifestyle and opportunity and invest in some females. Our
first birth on the farm was September 2007 and from there grew to a well-established herd with some of the finest genetics
in the industry. After retiring in 2019 we no longer breed these fine animals and have reduced our herd to a very manageable
2 males.
Like any reputable alpaca farm operation, Big Red Acres
has been a member of recognized industry associations such as Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association (AOBA), New England Alpaca
Owners and Breeders Association (NEAOBA), and The Alpaca Registry, Inc. (ARI). Jen chaired the nominating committee
for the NEAOBA Board of Directors for several years. All of our alpacas were registered, meaning that we have a documented
pedigree for each animal. You can learn more about these affiliations by going to our Links page.
